How Common is Autoimmune Disease?
Autoimmunity in the United States is increasing every year at an alarming rate. Most cases of autoimmune associated illness are not diagnosed or incorrectly diagnosed. Most cases of auto-immunity continue to progress and as symptoms worsen the person with the illness feels the effects ravaging their body and brain.
Conventional medicine has little to offer except steroids and pain medications. The doses of these medicines usually has to increase as the body adjusts to the current levels. Conventional medical treatments also come with a myriad of side effects that sometimes can feel just as bad as the symptoms of the disease.
Although they will tout “treatments” for autoimmune conditions conventional medicine and some alternative medicine may not fully understand how to correctly manage auto-immunity.
It is understood that auto-immunity is the immune system is mistakenly attacking healthy tissue in our body. It is making “auto anti-bodies”. It is not distinguishing between “self” and “non-self”.
Many different diseases are related through the mechanism of auto-immunity. The mechanism for autoimmune diseases is always the same. The difference is which tissue is attacked.
Left unmanaged or just suppressed by steroids the triggers of the autoimmune disease are still there thus still wreaking havoc on the body. Steroidal use is for the sole purpose of suppressing the immune system and decreasing inflammation. This is not a long term solution to autoimmune disease.
The key to managing auto-immunity is to remove the triggers to your immune system.
How do you remove these triggers?
Proper testing comes first followed by customized treatment plans to support, manage and get your immune system back on track.
